Terms of Use
Last updated: October 2, 2026
Welcome to Lofi Worlds. By using lofiworlds.com you agree to these terms. They are short and written in plain language; if something is unclear, just ask at [email protected].
Using Lofi Worlds
Lofi Worlds is free to use for your own personal listening and enjoyment. An optional paid membership adds a few extras, described below; every pixel world, the Mercury Window and the regular song library stay free for everyone. Please do not misuse the site, for example by trying to break into it, overload it, copy it wholesale, scrape it with automated tools, or get around the ways it is protected.
The music is ours
All music on Lofi Worlds is original and belongs to Lofi Worlds, unless noted otherwise. So do the pixel-art worlds, the animations, the code and the look of the site.
You are welcome to listen as much as you like and to share links to the site. Without our written permission, please do not download, copy, re-upload, sell, remix or redistribute the music or the art, use it in your own videos, streams, apps or products, or use it to train AI models. If you would like to use something, ask us; we are often happy to say yes.
Real places, real facts, just for fun
Many worlds are modeled on real places in space, and the readouts on screen show facts we have checked. We work hard to get them right, but they are there for enjoyment, not as a scientific reference. Hyperspace, the alien outpost and a few other things are pure science fiction. Lofi Worlds is not affiliated with or endorsed by NASA, ESA, CSA, STScI or any other agency whose images inspired our worlds.
Flashing light
Some worlds contain flashes of light, such as lightning, jump flashes and launches. If you are sensitive to flashing light, please take care.
No guarantees
Lofi Worlds is provided as it is and as available. We do our best to keep it running and working well, but we cannot promise it will always be available, error-free or suitable for any particular purpose. To the fullest extent the law allows, Lofi Worlds is not liable for any loss or damage that comes from using, or not being able to use, the site.
Links to other sites
Some pages link to other websites, such as the services listed in our privacy policy. We are not responsible for their content or how they handle your information.
Our videos on YouTube
Our videos on YouTube are also covered by the YouTube Terms of Service.
Memberships
A membership opens the painted windows beyond the Mercury Window, lets you save favorite songs, build your own playlists, switch on the Halloween theme with its own set of songs and, once the chat opens, post in it. Anyone can visit every pixel world and the Mercury Window, try each members' window for a minute a day, and listen to the regular song library for free, with or without one.
- Price and billing. The membership costs the price shown on the join button (currently $3 a month) and renews automatically every month, on the same day of the month, until you cancel.
- Who sells it. Memberships are sold through Link, Stripe's merchant of record, on Stripe's secure checkout page. Your receipt comes from Link, your card statement shows LINK.COM* LOFIWORLDS, and Link's own terms cover the sale. We never see or store your card number.
- Tax and currency. In the United States and Canada, sales tax is added at checkout where it applies. Elsewhere, the price shown at checkout already includes VAT or GST. The checkout may show the price in your local currency.
- Price changes. If the price changes, we tell members at least 30 days before it applies to them, and you can cancel before then.
- Failed payments. If a renewal payment fails, you keep your membership for 3 days while it is retried. After that the membership stops until a payment goes through.
Cancelling and refunds
- Cancel any time from "Manage membership" in the sign-in panel, or through your Link account at link.com. You keep your membership until the end of the month you already paid for, and you are not charged again.
- Deleting your account ("Delete account" on your profile page, which My Profile in the sign-in panel opens) cancels the membership at once and erases the account.
- Refunds. A month that has started is not refunded, except where the law requires it or if something went wrong on our side, such as a double charge. If you think you were charged by mistake, write to [email protected] and we will make it right. Link may also refund a payment under its own policy, and it applies any cooling-off period your local law gives you.
- If we close the membership or the site for good, we stop billing and refund the unused part of the current month.
Your account and callsign
- You sign in with Google or with a link we email you. There is no password. Keep your sign-in emails private: a link works once and for 15 minutes.
- A membership belongs to the account you join from. If you join without signing in, it belongs to the account of the email address you pay with, so only pay with your own address. One person, one account.
- You must be at least 16 years old, or the age of digital consent where you live if that is higher, to make an account or become a member.
- Your callsign is public. It must not be offensive, hateful, sexual or threatening, must not look like staff, the site, a brand or another member, and must not advertise anything or carry contact details. We may refuse a callsign, or rename one that breaks these rules. You may change your own callsign once every 30 days.
Favorites and playlists
Members can keep up to 500 favorite songs and up to 20 playlists of up to 200 songs each. They belong to your account and only you can see them. Playlist names go through the same filter as the chat. If your membership ends, your favorites and playlists are hidden and kept for 180 days in case you come back, then erased. If you delete your account, they are erased at once.
The chat
The chat is coming soon. When it opens, anyone can read it and members can post in it. Everything posted is public. Please do not post links or ways to find other sites or accounts, adverts, spam or scams, harassment, threats, hate speech or slurs, sexual content, other people's private information, or anything illegal, and do not pretend to be staff, the site or another member. Be kind, and do not try to get around the filter.
Moderation and bans
- We keep a record of who posted which message for 60 days, so we can look into reports and enforce these rules.
- We may remove messages, mute members or close accounts. For serious or repeated breaches the ban is permanent, the membership ends, and the current month is not refunded.
- To keep banned people out, we keep a one-way code made from a banned email address and the code Stripe gives to the card that was used (not the card number). We use them only to stop the same person joining again or making a new account.
- If you dispute a payment with your bank instead of writing to us, the subscription ends and that card is blocked. Please write to us first; we would rather sort it out.
Changes to these terms
We may update these terms from time to time; when we do, the date at the top changes. If a change matters to members, we tell them before it applies, and you can cancel if you do not agree. If you keep using the site after that, you accept the updated terms. Nothing in these terms takes away rights that the consumer law where you live gives you.
Law
These terms are governed by the laws of the State of Michigan, USA, without taking away any protection the law where you live gives you.
