Lofi music from other worlds, to study, focus and sleep
Lofi Worlds is a free lofi music site where every song plays inside an animated pixel-art world. Drift past Saturn's rings, watch a hurricane turn on Earth from a station window, ride a jump drive through hyperspace, or float beside a black hole while dark, chill lofi and soft ambient sounds play.
It is built for long, quiet sessions: studying, deep focus, coding, writing, reading, relaxing and falling asleep. The 45 worlds loop seamlessly, the 31 songs crossfade into one another, and nothing on screen asks for your attention.
play lofi worldsHow it works
- Press enter and put your headphones on. The music starts, and each world adds its own ambient layer, such as a station hum, wind, rain, crickets or a jump drive, with its own volume slider.
- Travel with the arrow keys or the worlds list, or roll the dice for a random world.
- Open songs to pick any track. Any song plays in any world.
- Want company on the trip? Switch on the guided tour in the worlds list: one song per world, travelling outward from the Sun.
Keyboard: ← → travel, space play or pause, N next song, R random world, T guided tour, S songs, W worlds, F fullscreen.
The sound
This is lofi for space: slow, heavy beats, detuned analog synth pads, deep modular drones, tape hiss and warm saturation, with the occasional glitch. It is darker and lonelier than the usual lofi hip hop playlist, closer to ambient music, which makes it easy to disappear into for hours. There are about 104 minutes of original music, and new tracks and worlds are added over time.
The worlds
Most worlds are real places, drawn from scratch in code as pixel art, using real mission imagery as reference. The readouts that appear on screen are real facts about what you are looking at.

Questions
Is Lofi Worlds free?
Yes. Lofi Worlds is free to listen to in your browser, with no sign-up, no app to install and no ads.
What does a membership add?
Every pixel world, the Mercury Window and the regular song library stay free, and anyone can try each of the other painted windows for a minute a day. An optional membership, $3 a month, opens those windows, lets you save favorite songs, build your own playlists, switch on the Halloween theme with its own set of eerie songs and, once the chat opens, post in it. It renews every month and you can cancel any time.
What kind of lofi music is it?
Dark, spacey sci-fi lofi: slow beats, warm analog synth pads, deep drones, tape hiss and soft glitches, more "alone on a space station at 3 a.m." than coffee shop. There are 31 original tracks, about 104 minutes of music, and they crossfade into each other so nothing ever stops abruptly.
Is it good for studying, focus or sleep?
That is what it is made for. The music is calm and instrumental, the worlds loop slowly and seamlessly, and nothing on screen asks for your attention, so you can leave it running while you study, code, write, read or fall asleep. You can turn the ambient sound up or down separately from the music.
Where does the music come from?
Every track is an original made for Lofi Worlds, and most are named after the world they were made for, such as Blue Sunset on Mars or Europa Night Shift. All music on Lofi Worlds is original and belongs to Lofi Worlds, unless noted otherwise.
Can I use the music in my own videos or streams?
Please ask first. The music belongs to Lofi Worlds, so using it in videos, streams, apps or other projects needs our written permission. Write to [email protected] and tell us what you have in mind.
Are the places real?
Most of them. Saturn, Jupiter, Europa, Io, the Pillars of Creation, the black hole, the hurricane seen from Earth orbit and many more are drawn from scratch as pixel art, using real NASA, ESA and Webb imagery as reference, and the readouts on screen show real facts. A few worlds, like hyperspace and the alien outpost, are pure science fiction.
Can I choose the song?
Yes. Open the songs list and pick any of the 31 tracks. Any song can play in any world. If you would rather be guided, switch on the guided tour in the worlds list: it plays one song per world and travels outward from the Sun.
Does it work on my phone?
Lofi Worlds runs in any modern web browser on a computer, tablet or phone. There is nothing to download. Tap enter to start the sound.
Can I keep it playing in the background?
Yes. The music keeps going when you switch to another tab or window, so you can leave it running while you work.
Does Lofi Worlds track me?
Only lightly. Lofi Worlds uses Google Analytics to count visits and to see which worlds and songs people enjoy, and we keep our own daily totals of world visits and song plays, tied to no one, so we know what to make next. There are no ads and no advertising profile, you never need an account to listen (a free one is optional), and in the EU, UK and Switzerland the analytics run without cookies.
